Job requirements

About the Role

As Development Manager, you will report directly to the CTO and contribute to the management of a multidisciplinary tech team (8–10 people).
You will define development standards, plan resource allocation together with the CTO and the General Manager, ensure high-quality delivery, and take operational pressure off the CTO by stepping in directly for technical analysis, solution design, and coding when needed.

What You'll Do

  • Define, maintain, and evolve coding standards, architectural guidelines, and best practices.

  • Plan capacity and resource allocation across Front-End, Back-End, and DevOps together with the CTO and General Manager.

  • Supervise code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, security practices, and performance optimization initiatives

  • Collaborate with the CTO, Project Managers, and Revenue Team to align on roadmaps, estimations, and priorities.

  • Support the professional growth of team members through continuous feedback, mentoring, and development plans.

  • Actively contribute to technical analysis, design, and hands-on coding when required.

  • Monitor key delivery KPIs (velocity, lead time, defect rate) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

  • 5+ years of hands-on software development experience, including 2+ years in people or technical leadership roles.

  • Strong expertise with cloud-native architectures (preferably AWS).

  • Deep understanding of CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and advanced project management practices.

  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and communication skills in both Italian and English.

  • A data-driven mindset focused on continuous improvement and team performance.

Nice-to-Have

  • Certifications in AWS, Kubernetes, or equivalent cloud technologies.

  • Experience deploying Machine Learning models into production.

  • Previous experience in scale-ups or digital consulting firms.

  • Familiarity with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot) and Customer Data Platforms.

What We Offer

  • A key leadership role within a growing and dynamic tech team.

  • Strategic involvement in planning, process improvement, and organizational scaling.

  • A dynamic and innovative environment where you are encouraged to take ownership, lead change, and grow.

  • Clear career development opportunities toward senior leadership positions within Exelab.
